I'm exhausted and can't really express what I'm feeling at the moment, but we're live — the International Secretariat of Amnesty International has re-launched its new, completely re-architected, W3C Web Content Accessibility-compliant, data protection law and privacy legislation-compliant, multi-lingual and totally open source Drupal, CiviCRM and Alfresco-based website. I'll blog in more detail later but in the meantime want to thank Fortune Cookie, CivicActions and the truly amazing group people I've had the pleasure to work with at Amnesty for getting this done :)
alfresco, amnestyinternational, civicactions, civicrm, crm, cms, drupal, fortunecookie, humanrights, impact, importantprojects, nptech, open source, projectmanagement, softwaredevelopment
Congratulation to yourself, CivicACtions and Fortune Cookie for a job well done! The new site is looking great and (I'm sure) opens up many doors with the new infrastructure. Just make sure you stop for Christmas before you start dreaming about how awesome the next iteration will be.

Posted by: Rick at December 10, 2007 07:12 AMhi Rob, congratulations! Love to read more one day about mashing up Drupal and Alfresco (and why), but first take some time to breath again and enjoy the sky and such :-)
Posted by: Rolf at December 10, 2007 09:58 AMYay Rob! Just wanted to say thanks for leading this project and being great to work with. Proudest theme I've ever done :)
Posted by: StephTheGeek at December 11, 2007 12:52 AMAnd you *should* be proud, Steph - and people should switch from 800 x 600 to 1024 x 768 and back again while switching from English to Arabic and marvel at what you've pulled off there :)
Rick and Rolf - thanks for the thanks and I'll post more ASAP on what we've done, why, and what's still to come :)
Posted by: Rob at December 11, 2007 07:58 AMrob, you're a genius of untold proportions to have led the many talented teams involved in this project to a successful, timely completion.
oh, i know that sounds gushing, but speaking as an amnesty old-timer, i know what a success this new website is, what a great effort it took to complete and can see what a huge difference it will make for the way amnesty communicates about human rights online.
well done to all involved and am looking forward to pinching all sorts of tips when you finally get down to documenting the thing out on your blog.
happy human rights day+1 (every day is human rights day!)
Posted by: Helena at December 11, 2007 01:34 PMRob - definitely great job!
Taking into account number of obstacles and amount of job scheduled just for 8 months, I can say you not a PM you are a wizard!
If you are looking for a guy who can unleash potential of a your team and deal with impossible - this is the right guy :-)
It was really a pleasure to work and (drink beer in park) with you. Hope to see you soon and do some work for HR all around this planet!
Posted by: Piotr at December 15, 2007 11:15 PMGreat result. Your herculean efforts position Amnesty to take advantage of the Dot Org Boom.
For the sake of human rights campaigning, we can only hope that Amnesty has the gumption to build on this achievement...
